In our experience, the best employees are those who not only posses exceptional abilities and enthusiasm, but those who are willing to “go the distance” without having to be prompted or always told what to do. Individuals who look to be challenged in their work environment and never shy away from taking ownership as well as responsibility for seeing that a client’s needs are met almost before the need itself is known.
We also ask that those who work with us know how to write, if only to be able to convey thoughts, concepts and yes, even the occasional memo or reports to clients and outside contacts. We’re both willing and able to teach associates what they need to know to be successful, but having a solid command of basic composition will go a long way to helping a candidate’s cause.
On the creative side, we look for a conceptual side that goes well beyond the lines and rules of a basic page. Designers that can challenge conventional thinking in a non-conventional way, who can listen and understand the unmet needs of the customer, and who realize that awards, while nice, are not the drivers for the work we do. There are, of course, no bounds on creativity, but being able to develop the “big idea” as George Lois said, no matter what the scenario, is what we, and our clients appreciate.
Right now, our staffing needs are limited, but like any agency subject to change on very short notice. We have hired summer and part-time interns in the past, so if you’re open to this type of opportunity, let us know. Send us your credentials, but be patient as we may not respond or acknowledge your submission right away. If we have a relevant opening, we will contact you, if not, we’ll add your information to our files and hold them for up to a year.
Good luck in your endeavors and we wish you well.
